Carol's Story
Things I do and like...
Travel - I love to take off and learn about new areas whenever I can! Most recently I've been to France, India, and Nepal. I find other people's stories interesting, and I like finding out how other cultures do things. Next summer (2008) my daughter and I are going to follow the Tour de France (watching it, not on bikes).
Learning about and tasting wine. Stopping at local wineries, trying "wines of the month."
Reading - history books, novels with historical perspectives, biographies.
Quilting, sewing, crocheting, knitting - all fun for me!
Playing cards with friends: Hands and Feet, Sequence, Euchre
Write to me if you want to connect about good (and bad) times at school - ...Expand for more
it's always fun to reminisce!
Question from school...
If I could see one teacher again, I'd like to see Mrs. Farr from 3rd grade. She was the most loving and caring person - and every day when I left school I would kiss her on the cheek. I used to see her around Muncie at the Mall, but haven't run across her for a long time.
Weirdest job...
That would be working the summer of '74 in Marhoefer's Packing Plant. I was hired in during labor problems that I knew nothing about. (Wait, I think Marhoefer's always had labor problems, right?) I worked mostly in the ham-canning process, and a few days up on the hog kill. The hardest parts of the job: keeping warm in the refrigerated areas, keeping my knives sharp.
